Voting in advance in Spain would be impossible, except via mail. There is no excuse needed to vote by mail. The voting stations are often schools repurposed for the day (so they try to use Sundays). The officials that watch the urns are drafted for that day, 3 persons from the district randomly selected by the courts. To vote during several days would need procuring suitable buildings, and draft more officials, and provide more security staff. The mail votes are brought to the voting stations by post office staff during the day, and they are carefully entered into the urns at the end of the day, when the doors are closed. Well, not really closed, people oversee the counting. -- Cheers, Carlos. ES🇪🇸, EU🇪🇺;
