First of all the Y, male, X, female is enough to categorize people. There are no people without Y and without X cromosomes. Arguing about O chromosomes and XXY etc, still leaves the Y and just shows an ideological bias. Second point is, as you say, that the ones with XXY or XO are very rare, and I'd wager that the vast majority of the ideological trans-people are plain old XX or XY.
