I removed RealVNC. I just use a simple VNC viewer for
I think eight units now and it doesn't do all the new
   'security' stuff.

As said there are environments where you'd want the
extra security, but it's overkill for me. There are
also apps like 'Remmnia' that can do VNC and RDP and
a few others. I've used it, it's "ok", but again
   less handy than 'vncviewer'.

Anyway, switching back to X11 fixed a number of
problems, including with some video-related apps.

Still think Wayland will NEVER really be ready
for prime time. Too many hidden incompatibilities
to thwart what you're trying to do, often with
little or no info on what's gone wrong or why.
X11 may be a '57 Chevy ... but it works and LOTS
of stuff is tuned to expect it. By the time Wayland
actually works right, it will BE X11 :-)

Anyway, as per note, Pi-OS used to default to X11
with Wayland as the alt .... now it's the other
   way around.

My immediate issue, had to dump the Trixie version
and go back to the ultimate BookWorm version ...
then even more of my video needs worked properly.
Worm should be OK for a few years ... some of my
other PIs are on Buster and one on Stretch and still
   get occasional security/functional updates.

Trixie is young and foolish and fickle alas ...
