Assuming that your printer driver can handle postscript, try enscript
with a fixed width font:

pr -o4 -t myfile | enscript --font Courier@12 -B | lpr

If your printer doesn't speak postscript, but does speak PDF,
just add another step to the above pipe:

pr -o4 -t myfile | enscript --font Times-Roman@12 -B | ps2pdf - - | lpr
