It's truly amazing how much of the world was walkable in the Ice Age; doesn't explain *every* place humans ended up (it's absolutely mind- boggling to consider how far back the Pacific islands were settled,) but it absolutely made a whole lotta places readily accessible for a good long while. Makes you wonder, too, how many of the various quasi- Atlantean legends in northwest Europe are really mutated folk memory from a *staggeringly* long time ago...
