Yeah - English speakers adopting French terms isn't as common as it used to be,* but a lot of the expressions that have been imported over the centuries are still in semi-common use. * (It'd be interesting to trace this behavior in a global context over time - these days, for example, most of our novel loanwords seem to come from Japanese, post-anime boom.)
