Pulseaudio and "ringing" (Skype, GTalk, VOIP, etc.)

Once upon a time - several versions of Fedora back - I could have Skype
set to "ring" one audio mechanism and "speak" on another audio
mechanism. Pre-pulseaudio, this permitted use of a headset for
conversation but ringing occurred on the speakers.

Now, Skype still has separate output "channels", but the only value
visible in the select lists is PulseAudio.

I can switch PulseAudio between speakers and headset easily enough, but
there's no concept of a "ringing device" and a "conversation device".

So...I'm not sure how to proceed to get back the ability to leave Skype
using a headset for conversation but ringing on the external speakers.
And, of course, I'd like the same ability for other tools (though I've
only had this working previously on Skype).

Any suggestions or pointers?

Thanks...

	Andrew
