You are right.  Apparently (some?) text files are encoded as 7-bit
ASCII with five characters per 36-bit word.  So it's 2980 x 5 = 14900.

Binary files are stored four octets per 36-bit word.

Certainly!  But there's red tape to cut through, so it will take some
