===================================================================== Call for Submissions I C S E 2 0 1 6 38th International Conference on Software Engineering May 14 - 22, 2016 Austin, USA http://2016.icse-conferences.org ===================================================================== ICSE -- the premier conference in software engineering sponsored by ACM and IEEE CS -- is coming to Austin for a second time in May 14 - 22, 2016. There, the top minds in software engineering research and practice will convene for a week of inspirational talks, demos and conversation. A quarter-century after the Texas state capital first hosted ICSE, Austin has become a hub for technology, entrepreneurship, music, outdoor recreation and nightlife. ICSE 2016 will be located in the lovely Austin Arboretum Area -- known as "new Austin" -- at the start of the Texas hill country and at the peak of the Texas wildflower season. What better setting could there be for flourishing ideas? Please mark your calendars. Contribute your results and ideas. Then plan to join us to make the 38th ICSE one for the record books. As the saying goes, "Everything is bigger in Texas!" ===================================================================== CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS We encourage you to contribute to and help shape ICSE 2016 through submissions to one or more of our many vehicles for professional engagement: research papers, practice and experience papers, education and training papers, software engineering in society papers, visions of 2025 and beyond, technical briefings, workshops, the doctoral symposium, posters and demonstrations. For the technical research track, we invite high quality submissions of technical research papers describing original and unpublished results of empirical, conceptual, experimental, and theoretical software engineering research. Research that builds upon previously-published work should have been evaluated through systematic, comparative, empirical or experimental evaluation. Submissions of papers describing groundbreaking approaches to emerging problems will be considered based on timeliness and potential impact though these novel results are only strengthened through evaluation. ICSE 2016 accepts paper submissions in the following categories: - Technical research papers - Software engineering in practice papers - Software engineering education and training papers - Software engineering in society papers - Visions of 2025 and beyond papers We also invite - proposals for workshops and technical briefings - submissions to the doctoral symposium and - formal demonstrations and posters IMPORTANT DEADLINES (submission deadlines are firm): Aug. 28, 2015 Technical research papers Oct. 10, 2015 Workshop proposals Oct. 23, 2015 Software engineering in practice papers Oct. 23, 2015 Software engineering education and training papers Oct. 23, 2015 Software engineering in society papers Oct. 23, 2015 Visions of 2025 and Beyond papers Nov. 20, 2015 Technical briefings proposals Nov. 20, 2015 Doctoral Symposium proposals Nov. 20, 2015 ACM Student Research Competition Nov. 20, 2015 Demonstrations proposals Jan. 13, 2016 Posters proposals Jan. 22, 2016 Workshop papers For further information on the call for submissions, please see also http://2016.icse-conferences.org/dates SUBMISSIONS Submissions will be handled electronically. The site for submissions will be found in the on-line call for each track at least 3 months prior to the submission deadline. To be considered, each submission must satisfy the track-specific instructions given on their respective web pages. All deadlines are strict; no exceptions will be granted. All submissions must conform to the submission instructions given on the conference web pages. Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of originality, contribution, soundness, evaluation, quality of presentation and appropriate comparison to related work. Accepted papers in all tracks may be withheld from publication unless at least one co-author registers for the event. Accepted papers in all tracks will be required to use the originally submitted title and author list in the official publication. PROCEEDINGS Accepted papers will be published in either the ICSE 2016 electronic conference proceedings or the ICSE 2016 electronic conference companion proceedings and in the digital libraries of ACM and the IEEE Computer Society. ===================================================================== CONFERENCE ORGANIZATION General Chair Laura Dillon, Michigan State Univ., USA Program Co-Chairs Willem Visser, Stellenbosch Univ., South Africa Laurie Williams, North Carolina State Univ., USA Deputy Chair William G.J.
