When I get an APK from F-Droid or Github, I use the PC web browser to get it, so the APK is automatically archived on Windows, and not on the phone. Since the APK is already on the PC, it makes no sense to copy it from the PC to Android when we can install it from the PC onto Android using adb. It used to be easy to install APKs because you just slid the APK from the PC file explorer to the image of the phone on the PC monitor. That used to install any APK (and that still works for this APK). But nowadays, many APKs are split APKs where that won't work anymore. Still, sliding any file onto the Android image on the PC copies it over. Once it's on the phone, you just tap it and it will be installed.
