Having been around this barn a few times, I have found that the only thing
that works reliably is to deliver to a local mailbox, and set the Gmail account
to retrieve the mail using POP.  If the user wants, it's not too hard also to
configure the gmail account to send mail from the forwarded address with the
outgoing through your server so the DKIM and SPF are right.
