You must leave it out. Now I'm reading a Tkinter reference at http://infohost.nmt.edu/tcc/help/pubs/tkinter/minimal-app.html and it has this example: #!/usr/local/bin/python =20 from Tkinter import * =20 class Application(Frame): =20 def __init__(self, master=3DNone): Frame.__init__(self, master) =20 self.grid() =20 self.createWidgets() def createWidgets(self): self.quitButton =3D Button ( self, text=3D'Quit', command=3Dself.quit ) =20 self.quitButton.grid() =20 app =3D Application() =20 app.master.title("Sample application")=20 app.mainloop() Is this just outdated? I don't understand why it uses quit() instead of des= troy(). When I try this in IDLE, quit() just causes the application to hang= (I assume because it ends the mainloop without actually closing the applic= ation). Or is this just a problem when using IDLE? If the latter, which is preferable, quit or destroy?
