And they did a mayor change a couple of years ago, it is a mystery they could not fix this if it serve no purpose? Google DID do "something about this"... About a year and half ago, as I recall. That's when they changed their internal format to work on their web system, and inflicted the horror on any "group" that wasn't a pure GoogleGroup (ie; things that GG is gatewaying out to UseNet or mailing lists). Prior to that change, the Usenet gateway from GG was clean.
