What about storing the sentences as string variables, i.e.:

|  /phrase_1 (first sentence) def
|  /phrase_2 (second sentence) def
|
|  [...]
|
|  ... moveto phrase_1 show
|  showpage
|  ... moveto phrase_1 show ... moveto phrase_2 show
|  showpage
|
|  [...]
