I cannot find an explanation of how to use separations with the display
device in Ghostscript. For example, how to figure out how many separations
there are, and how is the data arranged in the buffer, and if any other
settings are needed to work it? Does overprint work?

I am making a program that uses Ghostscript, SQLite, and TeX, to render
cards used for such card games as Magic: the Gathering and others. For
example, Magic: the Gathering cards have a shiny mark on it, so I would
think to use separations to implement that, isn't it?
