An alternative, at least on Firefox and I assume on other browsers, is to right click in the main frame and select "This frame" then "Open frame in new tab" or "new window". The new tab or window can be used to construct links and then closed. I find it more convenient than switching my working tab in and out of frames, but YMMV. Patricia
