You should listen. And once again, stop with the tabloid headline nonsense. Programming is an engineering profession, ergo it requires logic and cold-hearted examination of reality. Sound-bite poster sayings will not substitute for that. Practice using logical and reasoned arguments. > >>>> I'm very strongly of the opinion different languages should provide > >>>> different features, making different trade-offs, and programmers > >>>> should pick the language for a job based on its requirements and > >>>> those features. > > >>> You have to admit, it's quite a chasm between Java/C# and Ada. > > > Be specific. =A0No one has to admit that. =A0As the person making the > > claim, the burden of proof is on you, "MikeP". =A0Demonstrate your > > point, please. =A0Define "chasm", how to measure it, and what makes the > > difference "quite" a chasm. > > You are on a witch-hunt so I'll bid you farewell (as in buh-bye, I don't > do pee-pee measuring contests). > Again, you are employing emotional and indirect comments to make conclusions not supported by the evidence. Far from being on a "witch-hunt [sic]", I am recommending an essential skill the practice of which will greatly help you. In other words, I'm giving you good advice. That is the antithesis of a witch hunt, a phrase that refers to the determined search for blame without regard for the facts. > >> I find points of comparison very illuminating. You believe that I am unequalized? What do you even mean? You are quite fond of this "Don't look now" phrasing. It really isn't making any real points. >> C'mon, "MikeP", this is a programmers' group. =A0Give us more than >> tabloid gossip-column rhetoric, please. > > I really have no advice to those who are proverbial "bit heads" other > than maybe enroll in a few Humanities classes? > Sorry? How does that relate to my comment, other than to demonstrate a complete lack of understanding thereof or a complete refusal to engage in reasoned discussion? No one asked you for advice. I gave you advice, and a request (that you have obviously declined). > Now, if you want to grow up and have some post-adolescent discourse, > fine. Else just puh-leeeze, go away! Is that meant to demonstrate mature discourse? No one is impressed by your insistence on troll-like emotional and irrelevant comments in lieu of reasoned discussion. Sorry, "discourse". The one engaging in bashing and adolescent expressions like "puh-leeeze" is not the one to render judgment on what constitutes "post-adolescent discourse". Rather, your avoidance of the points raised by anyone in this discussion and consistent refusal to use logic or evidence puts you in no position to act so snotty. You are a troll. You've done nothing but issue snarky comments and argumentative statements this entire discussion. This is a group for programmers to discuss programming matters. You would benefit from behaving accordingly. -- Lew
