I did read most of those articles some time ago, but do not recall any
detailed information about metacompilation.  I reviewed them again
now, and the most promising title "Assemble or Metacompile" is really
short.  There is also "Build Your Own (Cross-) Assembler in Forth",
but it only briefly touches on the cross-target aspect.
