Yes, ]] and [[ are a recent Standards Committee induced enhancement.
A new release of iForth is pending.

Before you posted I spent a lot of time looking into CATCH .. THROW, but
it was not fruitful (yet).

BTW, I appended a slightly polished version of the code that
supports the original recursive BNF feature. (RECURSIVE is
not an ANS word but some poster here will know what to do
instead). Your version may not have S\" yet but that
