Looking back at the previous posts, I did post a couple of paragraphs
about something that was clearly off-topic before complaining that
it was off-topic.  That was inconsistent of me, but I decided that
posting yet another followup, either to defend myself or to admit
that I was wrong, would just increase the noise, so I tried to
let it drop.  Posting a month after the thread had died out hardly
seems helpful.
