It is clear to me that I likely= will never be asked to do so again. Thus I have been most prayerful and se= rious about preparing my presentation for today. Assuming that I would neve= r again stand at this pulpit to teach and testify, I have considered what m= ight be the most important message I could share with you. My objective thi= s morning is to describe and discuss both the redeeming and enabling powers= of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. And I hope to place particular emphasis = upon the enabling power of the Atonement. I yearn and invite and pray for t= he companionship of the Holy Ghost to be with me and with you as we visit t= ogether for these few minutes about this sacred subject. download oh lord you have been so good you are so good to me Download File https://t.co/GJHpDGY5LZ=20 The journey of a lifetime, as described by President McKay, is to go from b= ad to good to better and to have our very natures changed. And the Book of = Mormon is replete with examples of disciples and prophets who knew and unde= rstood and were transformed by the enabling power of the Atonement in makin= g that journey. May I suggest, brothers and sisters, that as we come to bet= ter understand this sacred power, our gospel perspective will be greatly en= larged and enriched. Such a perspective will change us in remarkable ways. Brothers and sisters, I know the Savior lives. I have experienced both His = redeeming and enabling power, and I witness that these powers are real and = available to each of us. I know He directs the affairs of this Church. I kn= ow apostles and prophets authoritatively act for and in behalf of the Lord = Jesus Christ. These things I know to be true and so testify in the name of = Jesus Christ, amen. Theodoret applies this psalm to the distresses of the Jews in the times of = the Maccabees under Antiochus Epiphanes; and R. Obadiah interprets some pas= sages in it of the Grecians of those times; but it rather seems to have bee= n written by David on account of some troubles of his, out of which he was = delivered; and refers either to the times of Saul, and the persecutions he = endured from him, particularly when he was beset round about by him and his= men in the wilderness of Maon, 1Sa 23:26, to which he may have respect Ps = 116:3. The inscription of the psalm in the Syriac version is, see 1Sa 24:4. But since mention is made of Jerusalem, Ps 116:19, where the = psalmist would praise the Lord for his deliverance, which as yet was not in= his hands nor in the hands of the Israelites, but of the Jebusites; some h= ave thought it was written on account of the conspiracy of Absalom against = him, and who, hearing that Ahithophel was among the conspirators, said the = words related in Ps 116:11, it is very probable it was composed after the d= eath of Saul, and when he was settled in the kingdom, as Jarchi observes, a= nd was delivered out of the hands of all his enemies; and very likely much = about the same time as the eighteenth psalm was, which begins in the same m= anner, and has some expressions in it like to what are in this. David was a= type of Christ, and some apply this psalm to him. When we commit to doing life with God, we have a real relationship with Him= . Just like when a husband and wife commit and share vows, our commitment t= o Christ means our lives are no longer our own. We now have a purpose and m= eaning that's not about being the main character and life going our way. We= trust God because He loves us. As a result, even in the midst of a busy Th= ursday, while running errands, or during back-to-back meetings, His joy shi= nes bright like the morning sun. He gives us peace in the chaos and unexpec= ted hardships. I don't have to tell you that things got a little testy by the time the lin= e reached its end. A low murmur passed among those who were hired early tha= t morning. Finally someone just said it: "This is not right. We got a bum d= eal. You have short-changed us! We did most of the work today. We carried t= he burden under the hot sun. But you treated them as equals in the labor!" Now, consider what you have heard. There was the story about laborers who w= ere paid a full day's wages for one hour's work. There was the story of an = already-completed exam that gave every student an undeserved "A." What do t= hese stories have in common? Call it out! Psalm 107 is totally devoted to this theme, and opens with joy: "Give thank= s to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever. Let the r= edeemed of the Lord proclaim that He has redeemed them from the hand of the= foe . . . " Then the psalmist describes four different scenarios where God= graciously steps in to reveal His goodness. I don't have time to unfold ea= ch one, just touch on it: God intervenes in the lives of those who have rebelled against the Word of = God and suffer for it. When they repent, He delivers them from their distre= ss, breaks the chains of sin that bind them, and turns the night to day. He's been there for you, more than you'll ever know. No matter what situati= on you're facing this morning, God is the best Person to take it too. There= is no surer source of deliverance or blessing than Him, because He is good= all the time. Colossians 1 reminds us that Jesus "is the image of the invisible God" (v. = 15) and that "God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him" (v. 19= ). Jesus is God's goodness in the flesh. He demonstrated God's desire to po= ur out blessing and help and deliverance on us in three ways. Romans 2:4 says, "Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, restraint, = and patience, not recognizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you t= o repentance?" Paul is saying, "Do you think that all these blessings that = visit your days came because you're just an incredibly nice person who made= God's special list? No, His goodness was meant to lead you to Him." Going = through your life receiving what He has been giving without trusting in Chr= ist is like saying, "God I had all this coming. I deserve this and more. So= keep it coming." We want the gifts, not the Giver. Our ingratitude and gre= ed for what He can do for us while rejecting Him is the heights of sin. And= one day, the gravy train will come to an end. But hear me: He is there for you. Ps. 31:19-20 says, "How great is Your goo= dness that You have stored up for those who fear You, and accomplished in t= he sight of everyone for those who take refuge in You. You hide them in the= protection of Your presence; You conceal them in a shelter from the scheme= s of men, from quarrelsome tongues." God has great goodness stored up for y= ou. Take your refuge in Him. Rest there. He is up to more than you know, an= d has hidden help that only comes when you give it up to Him. When you believe that God is good all the time, it frees you to take ever-i= ncreasing steps of faith. In our living room, we have a beautiful print of = Jeremiah 29:11 that reminds me of God's intent toward me and my family: "Fo= r I know the plans I have for you" - [this is] the Lord's declaration - "pl= ans for [your] welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."= Believing that cuts you loose from fear about taking risks for Christ's sa= ke. Psalm 84:11 is fuel to the fire of daring greatly for Him: "For the Lor= d God is a sun" (He illuminates the path I should take) "and shield" (He pr= otects me); "the Lord gives grace and glory (that's exaltation for those wh= o follow Him). "He does not withhold the good from those who live with inte= grity." You never miss out if you step out with God. But there was one moment that stood out. It happened when he was invited to= a National Football League fundraising auction. When it began, one particu= lar item caught John's eye: a basketball signed by all the players of the S= acramento Kings. John so desperately wanted that ball that when it came up = for bid, he felt his hand raise up in the air. His mother quickly brought i= t back down, knowing they didn't have the funds to cover any bid. John Gilbert, while he was still able, wrote these words: "It took me a mom= ent to realize what the man had done. I remember hearing gasps all around t= he room, then thunderous applause and weeping eyes. To this day I'm amazed!= Have you ever been given a gift that you could have never gotten for yours= elf? Has anyone ever sacrificed a huge amount for you without getting anyth= ing in return . . . ?"[ Thank you I have tried to reach out to God.I made a deacon return $3700 to = a lady he stole off, had to threatened submitting a deposition to the State= of Fl.Ins Commission before he returned the money.God has had revenge agai= nst me for my integrity. I am so hurt by his recourse for honesty. Because somewhere they want your attention just ignore and see the differen= ce imagine you have extremely important work in your head when you cross th= at successful loser again.in your head say that person loser 5times it will= be fun hahaha . If God prevented the evil from prospering, that would not only eliminate fr= ee will, but by making it obvious that He was there stopping evildoers, tha= t would cause people to not be able to make a real choice between evil and = good, and to not need faith because we would have proof. I came across this website again. I love GOD SOOOOOO MUCH and cruelty is do= ne to me by others basis. The actions of people i know its sad and disgusti= ngly uncomfortable.
