Hello thx you for your answers. So it was the encoding I think. So it was something in the video. So if someone has the same issue even if everything is working but not the looping effect on the background video it is surely because of the video itself.

In my program a method should be executed either all the time or every second.In this method, many conditions should be checked and a label should be updated, which indicates a time .I have already programmed this method, but I do not know how to write a loop that runs in the background so continue buttons can be pressed.


so the problem is not with this code, but the code contains a while loop which prohibits me to proceed with my code(this whole code is also a part of a while loop which contains all the command).i wanna know how to like run this loop in parellel of the other main while loop(this while loop checks the time while the main while loop checks what command the user is giving.)is there any way to do this (if you want i can post my full code if it helps).

I am making a small game to sort of test the waters with Game Maker and I'm trying to have an mp3 play when the splash screen loads - and persist until the game either ends or the game starts (meaning splash, menu, options all play the background mp3).






So then I decided I'd go to drag and drop since sound_loop and sound_play don't seem to want to work for me. What happens is, the BGM_Menu will start to play on my splash screen, then as soon as as it transfers over to my Menu room (from Splash) it starts to loop the same song over the one that's still currently playing from the splash screen.


First of all, I was using the wrong (outdated / legacy) functions to play audio. Once I fixed that, I removed my object and instead made some creation code in my splash screen that will play / loop the music.

I`m trying to add a loop on the background, to say it 2 times before it hangsup. I tried with LOOP=2, with go to, it just doesnt go. Any help would be appreciated.

I spent like an hour getting this clip of music to loop seamlessly and when I finally got it, I put it into my game as background music that looped. But then I noticed all my work to make it loop seamlessly was for nothing, because what it looks like is that Unity is adding a split second of blank audio at the beginning of my mp3 file, so I have an obvious pause in the loop that sounds terrible. How do I prevent Unity from screwing up all my work and not adding the blank audio at the beginning?


MP3 is no good for seamless looping, because it indeed messes up the timing, inserting a small pause in the beginning of the file. This has nothing to do with tags (they are inserted at the end of the file, and would not be interpreted as audio data anyway).


Then, in the application startup code (the portion that only runs once, I put it right before the line that starts the Bottle server) I added the line to start a thread that runs the background() function:


It turned out to be pretty easy, at least compared to some of the other options I saw while researching how to do this. One of the key points is the "global x" statement in the background() function - this is how it shares the value with other functions. Congratulations my brother!!! You have solved an issue that has driven me crazy for ages. I downgraded VLC to 2.2 and upgraded Quelea to 2019.1 a great combination. And no more black screen on the motion backgrounds!!! Happy days.


I use a number of video backgrounds that are just short loops - such as people in an office working behind me. I notice that after some period of time, not sure how long, they stop looping. My computer is not going into sleep mode, it is always on. Restarting Manycam resolves this. Any ideas? Thanks.


Based on the limited testing that I have done, it seems like it starts playing all videos when you load the application. Then when it reaches the end of the videos it stops and does not loop them. Therefore you have to reload many cam to restart a video and it only runs for as long as the video.


The desired behavior is that it loops the videos, otherwise I have to create looped videos that run for hours to avoid having to restart many cam. This is probably not ideal as it means that the videos can get quite large, vs. being able to create a short video and have the software loop it.


Ok, confirmed - 7.8.6.2 - the videos stop looping. In version 7.8.0.17 on my laptop the videos appear to keep looping. So I installed 7.8.0.17 on my Mac mini and I am now testing this to see if it keeps looping.

Anyone else seen this problem? I was thinking about possibly managing updates for the background thread from the timer function as a possible fix, though any work done in the timer will block the main Max thread.


However, I think I might be unable to make a container with a background image into a clickable link in the usual way. I was seeking out solutions here in the Forum and was wondering if this CSS would work?

We have the exact same Problem with Background-Videos. On Chorme/Firefox/Edge the MP4 Videos are looping without problems. Only on OSX/Safari it plays only once and stops. (Sierra 10.12.4 / Safari 10.1)

Is there any way to get my loop to not cause Maya to freeze(AKA run in the background while still providing meaningful data to Maya). Right now I am experimenting with the multiprocessing module. Has anyone had success with a method like this, or am I going about this completely wrong and there is no way to provide such functionality outside of a compiled plugin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
