Here is a descrition of what I would like to achieve. I have all kinds of shapes - either rectangular or square - in a drawing in phtoshop. Note that some of the shapes are not entirelly filles (do they're like a thick stroked line in a rectangular shape. I want to "round" each shape to a different extent, from giving a shappe rounded corners to making it totally round or oval (respectively for a square of rectangle of course).


So I want to select each shape in turn and apply a degree of "rounding" to each shape individually. Since there are many such shapes, I am looking to automate the process save for the parameter that defines the amount of rounding.


Right now, it's just a PS regular layer. The shapes are all squares and rectangles. I either select them all with a colour selection, which I don't want because I want to edit most shapes individually, or simply with the magic wand since they're easyto isolate. If i need to convert to shape layers, that's fine by me: it is the rest of the process that baffles me.


I wanted to draw a circle and I thought this could be accomplished by using a simple brush but there isn't a circle or square shape available.Please note that by circle I mean a simple closed curve that divides the plane into two regions: an interior and an exterior. I don't mean a disk.

Do you have a photo that you want to make into a circle? You can do it with Adobe Photoshop. First, you need to open your photo in this program. You can do this by clicking on the word Open at the bottom of your screen. Or you can press two keys on your keyboard at the same time: Ctrl and O.


You need to change it to a normal layer so that you can make a circle out of it. Why? Because the background layer cannot have any empty spaces, and we want to have some empty spaces around our circle.






Usually, when people want to crop image to circle shape in Photoshop, they use the Crop Tool. But we are not going to do that, because we want to make a circle, not a rectangle or a square.


When you are happy with your circle crop photo, let go of your mouse button and then let go of the Shift key. Make sure you do it in this order because if you let go of the Shift key first, your circle will become an oval.


Now you have a circle selection on your photo, but we want to crop everything else around it, not the circle itself. To do this, we need to invert the selection. This means that we will select everything that is not inside the circle.


We want to keep our photo transparent around the circle, so we need to choose a format that supports transparency. One such format is PNG. PNG is also good for using photos on websites or other online places.


To draw a perfect circle in Photoshop, first, select the Ellipse Tool by pressing U. Then click and drag out on your canvas while holding the Shift key to keep the shape symmetrical. Letting go of your mouse, you are now left with a perfect circle.


The trick to making a perfect circle with the Elliptical Tool is holding down the Shift Key. Holding down the Shift Key will lock the aspect ratio to a perfect circle shape as you drag the mouse on the canvas.


Once you have your perfect circle on your canvas, you can change its color any time in the Options bar by clicking on Fill. This will give you a list of folders of different themed palettes for you to choose from.


There are not many settings for the pattern fills, but Scale is an option you will probably want to adjust as the patterns are often too large for the fill. Adjust the percentage up and down until your pattern is legible within your circle.


You can even change your fill to no fill with the Transparent Fill Option in the Fill Options Window. Doing this will make the inside of your circle transparent, so you must ensure you have a stroke selected to see your circle.


Just like with the fill, you can erase your stroke by clicking the Transparent Stroke Icon in the Stroke Options Window. This will erase your stroke, so you must have a fill active to see your shape.


A window will pop up asking what you want to fill your circle selection with. Choose Color to quickly fill your selection with the color of your choice. Click OK to confirm your color.


To start this process, grab the Elliptical Marquee Tool (M) and hold the Shift Key and drag your mouse to create a perfect circle selection on your image. You can hold the spacebar to move the entire selection as you create it to find the perfect spot.

Create a Circle shape (ellipse tool), then apply "Gradient overlay" Layer style to it. In gradient overlay , make sure that "Align with Layer" is checked.Now you can transform the circle to any shape, the gradient will adjust accordingly.


To change the color (inside or out), use the appropriate Fill (inside) or Outline (line around the image) options in the Shape (or Picture) Format Ribbon or at the right of the Home Ribbon. If you want just the outline of a shape, choose No fill from the dropdown menu.


To connect lines between objects, choose a line from the Shapes icon, move your cursor over the object until you see green circles on the edge of the shape. Click and hold on the green circles, drag a line to the other object until you see a green circle again, and then let go of the mouse button.


You can play with the brightness, contrast, and color using the options in the Adjust Group or modify the shape, border and effect in the Picture Styles Group. Another tool is Artistic Effects, found in the Adjust Group. Move your mouse over preset effects to preview how they would look on your image, and then click on it to apply it.
