A Treasure's Trove: A Fairy Tale About Real Treasure for Parents and Children of All Ages is an illustrated children's book written by Michael Stadther and published in 2004 by Treasure Trove Inc, which he incorporated to do so.[1][2] The "real treasure" was found by deciphering clues in the book that led to fourteen tokens that could be turned in for unique jewels, each representing an insect or character from the book, or a cash prize representing one third of the jewel's value.[3] Initially, it was reported that there were twelve jewels,[3] however, it subsequently emerged that there were fourteen prizes. In 2005, it was reported that film rights for A Treasure's Trove had been acquired by Cruise/Wagner Productions,[4] however, apart from a reported trailer being in development in the New York Times,[5] there has been no further news.

Inside the book are clues to fourteen tokens that were hidden in parks throughout the United States, which could be redeemed for jewels representing characters from the story.[7] The unique jewels, which were collectively valued at one million dollars,[8] have now all been found, and a book showing the solutions has been published.[9] Stadther subsequently published another book with a new treasure hunt, Secrets of the Alchemist Dar.[10]

The book encouraged the search for 18K gold tokens hidden across the states. Once a searcher deciphered the clues concealed within the pages of the book, he would go to the location described and retrieve the token to exchange for the treasured jewel.

Fun story! I hope we get another hunt like this in the future, I was unaware of the world of armchair treasure hunts when this one was going on. Bummer on the dragonfly miss but cute picture of the kids!

In the early 2000's I was given a book by my grandma when I was barely 12 years old. This book contained a treasure hunt - that if solved could result in finding tokens in the real world. Those tokens when redeemed could result in cash or a crystal jewel representing a character from the book.

This was said to have over 2 million in prizes for a treasure hunt of 100 rings. Unfortunately this story ends sadly due to a dispute between the distributor and author(s). The company behind the books was put into bankruptcy and ultimately collapsed. With no prizes in the world, the puzzle fell apart.

When Vordan exposes a secret her father has kept for years, Alosa and her crew find themselves in a deadly race with the feared Pirate King. Despite the danger, Alosa knows they will recover the treasure first . . . after all, she is the daughter of the Siren Queen.

What I love about this book the most and the main reason I wanted to share it with you is that Roy was able to measure and record the dimensions of so many great instruments and he shared that precious info with the rest of us. To me, this is a treasure trove of information and something I will always appreciate. There is no way I could ever get access to all the guitars detailed in the book, but thanks to Roy anyone can have the measurements and other information he gathered about them on hand to reference and learn from as they work, whether building a guitar based closely on these wonderful designs, or simply using them to keep their own unique designs safely grounded in the tradition as they experiment with their own unique guitar designs.

Google books is a treasure trove of information, including giving full access to the very first school nursing textbook written in 1917 by Lina Rogers Struthers. It is a fascinating glimpse into the challenges that the first school nurses faced at the turn of the last century.
