Hackaday Ceefax: The Original News On Demand <https://hackaday.com/2024/09/30/ceefax-the-original-news-on-demand/> The German TV based sibling's pages were sent in cycles so not an on demand service. Some decoders cached seen pages, but waiting was part of that experience. I sometimes played with it when I was bored, but I would not have missed it if the TVs would have come without it. The phone based BTX wasn't used by anyone in my neighbourhood and I did not have much fun with it in modem days. A "normal BBSe" definitely was more fun. Maybe for low bandwidth systems (LoRa?) and small displays, something like this could make sense again? -- I do not bite, I just want to play.
