You still miss the point: also a "free dynamic DNS service" does not
give you your own domain.

And since getting your *own* domain *with* hosting starts at a few bucks
per month, I wouldn't even think about all the hassle using a service
like Google Sites or DynDNS and running your own machine at home.

Running your own machine at home means you have to provide the uplink,
take care for backups and maintenance and you have to pay for the
electricity as well. So you do not really save a lot.

Using a service like "Google Sites" gives you webspace, but not without
own domain unless you pay for it - so no big difference to regular web
hosting.
