Question: WAIS today?

Hi comp.infosystems.wais,

     I see this newsgroup hasn't seen much dialog for a long while.

     Nonetheless, this seems to be true for many newsgroups. So, incase 
anyone is still here -

     I looked up WAIS out of interest, and came to "Wide Area Infomation 
Server" on wikipedia.

     Assuming this is correct; can anyone please tell me - is WAIS still 
used/relevent today, even slightly?
