Tried that, no good. I must bemissing something. Here is
a mini-example
gnuplot << eoi
set term postscript enh eps 24
set output 'mini.eps'
set xlabel "x"
#set ylabel '{/Symbol i \326 \164}' norotate --- no good
#set ylabel '{i /Symbol \326 \164}' norotate --- no good
set ylabel "{/:Italic {i \U+221A \U+0305\U+03C4}}"
plot x*sqrt(x) w p pt 7
quit
eoi
gv mini.eps
What am I missing?--
