Obviously, since I never use the dropdown, I don't care if there are bogus entries. (When I think of it, I may occasionally use the dropdown at work, if I am to connect to a customer server, and I know that I've been there recently. The customer servers often have difficult names like UP09VSSQL11 and the port number is not always 1433, and if I have not updated my hosts file, I need to use the IP address.) -- Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esquel@sommarskog.se Links for SQL Server Books Online: SQL 2008: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/cc514207.aspx SQL 2005: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb895970.aspx
