I have no ideas what that may be. On this computer I have to directories under Protect with a SID in the directory name. One directory has a single file with a GUID name and a file Preferred. The other directory has five such files + "Preferred". But this is a netbook which I rarely use when I'm at home, but right now I am travelling. There is no Reporting Services on this machine. I can see that the latest such file is from Aug 22nd, which is about the day I took out the netbook to prepare it for the trip. One idea would be to write a program in the language of your choice which deletes all files but the latest, and run it from Task Manager or SQL Server Agent regularly. -- Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esquel@sommarskog.se Links for SQL Server Books Online: SQL 2008: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/cc514207.aspx SQL 2005: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb895970.aspx
