Question on a calculation

I have a container that I store a picture in and I am trying to have the 
calculation check the container and tell me whether or not each record has 
one:

Here is what I have:

CheckContainer = If ( Picture Database::Carded Picture= "" ; "Empty" ; "Not 
Empty" )

For some reason the field will only show "Not Empty" when a picture appears, 
if no picture there is nothing the field.

Any help?
