Robert Dewar, President and CEO of AdaCore, has said this, at FOSDEM 2012: "AdaCore is a successful company totally based on Free Software (all the software we sell is licensed under the GPL, or other free software licenses)." ^^^^ http://fosdem.org/2012/interview/robert-dewar The video of a presentation at Fosdem 2012 has few more remarks. To find it, start a search: "robert dewar at fosdem 2012 video" I'd guess that AdaCore has found an interpretation of "sell" that matches the legal, commercial, and social requirements of doing business and paying taxes.
