While this is true, I think people tend not to think of it as overloading when the operations are similar, such as fixed point and floating point addition. There have been complaints about Java, which claims not to have operator overloading, and then uses the + operator for String concatenation. Lots of fun is you do things like: int i=3; System.out.println(i+i+"="+i+i); -- glen
