making lamp server online

I installed apache2 server in my linux OS(gnome). it works good as a
local server. I want to configure it so that my friend could access my
server by entering http://[myip]/ . I want to make the server go
online. Please suggest how to do that. I had already made a WAMP
server on another machine but the same router and that works well.
