I come from 19 years in the future! The hourly rates will no longer exist due to competitive pressure to only charge by the month. After one ISP abandoned hourly rates, all others had to follow suit to stay in competition. I pay $30/month for about 3 Mbps (megabits; that's .375 megabytes or 384 kilobytes per second) in a time when the cost of fuel is over $3/gallon in many places in America. You may think "YIKES!" but those prices may be offset by how much cheaper and faster the Internet is by now. You may watch TV and play video games with graphics far better than most of you can ever imagine today. And there's so much more to expound on, but I'll leave the rest to your imagination. I couldn't believe we had to pay by the HOUR back in your day!
