yeah the only work around imho i use www.synchro.net as your front end 
to the bbs (free bbs pkg) and then loop back and forth via the wg pages 
and modules via that interface..also handy for fossi doors in that they 
are built in multi-node (ie you can run lord door that was 15 bucks on 
100 nodes) it is pretty painless they have fossil door driver that you 
use so it all works under xp and the pkg is also (or was) available in 
linux as well

it was the work around i used for a multi-node door system on the lost 
gonzo bbs and nostalgia bbs also used this method...also worked well 
with vircom's tcp/ip grabing stuff here and there to makke a merged
system with wg 1.01 stuff blended in

but yeah your probably better off simply using ricks stuff wg 3.20
and just avoid the silliness of wg 5.3

just saying off the cuff what used to work
