Excel for Longitudinal Score Analysis

Greetings,

I am a 3rd grade writing teacher that has to assess student writing on 11 different criteria (pause for a moment to consider how much of my weekends live here).

I want to create a spreadsheet in which I can input all student scores on each criteria for each assessment period, and that will output to me a measure of whether each student is growing or not in each category.

(Example: I want to know if Julia is making progress in the structure row of the rubric as well as if she's growing in the word choice row and the sentence fluency row etc. etc.)

Any thoughts on what excel function would best help me accomplish this?
