Witnessed phone snatching on BART today

So I got on Fremont to Richmond train at Lake Merritt around four-thirty 
today.  I sat near the rear of the car.  There was a young black guy sitting 
in the last row and I sat in the seats that are facing each other so the 
black guy was in my direct line of sight.  He was glaring at me so I kept my 
head down and just read a magazine but he was shifting a lot and I had a bad 
feeling because of the way he was glaring at me.

At the next stop (12th St.), he suddenly got up and ran out right before the 
door closed.  I thought that was strange but he snatched the iPhone from an 
Asian girl sitting across from her.  (She was sitting with her brother.)  A 
few seconds later the girl got up and started to panic.

I was sitting on the aisle seat so if I had my iPhone out, he could have 
easily snatched mine and he was running so fast that I wouldn't have been 
able to catch up to him.

I don't know how good is a stolen iPhone as it must have a kill switch and 
they can easily track it.  However, I hear about people committing crimes on 
BART all the time and this was the very first time I witnessed one.
