The real problem is that as the user doesn't have access to the email address at me.com, I quickly tried and tested an alternative email address that looks something like ipad-mm-yy@dontronics.com and all worked well for 3.5 years, until the version upgrade on the 24th of March. I do this email stamping with every company I deal with. If I have a Norton account, I create and use norton@dontronics.com, and when I get spam, I know that Norton DB has been compromised, or they have sold it to a third party. In fact this happened with Norton, but they told me that they were very secure. Mailwasher was another. I created mailwasher@dontronics.com, got spam, and they admitted that an employee had taken a Laptop home for the weekend and it was compromised. BTW I tried loading up iTunes on my PC, and attempting a version upgrade on that, but no luck. Apple had already told me it wouldn't work.
