Perhaps the simple answer to that is Microsoft is so pushy about their products, they are forcing users to try 
alternatives.

Same as W10, why do I have to jump through so many hoops to stop them upgrading my very workable system to something I 
don't want or need? Can't I keep W7 and W8 as it is? At least my XP computers are stable and reliable.
