Radio Hall Of Fame Announces 2022 Inductees

The Museum of Broadcast Communications has announced the nine inductees  
into 2022 class of the Radio Hall of Fame.

The new inductees are:

Marv Dyson  General Manager of 106.3 WJPC-FM and 1390 WGCI/107.5 WGCI-FM  
Chicago
Lon Helton  Host of Country Countdown USA and publisher of Country Aircheck
Ellen K  Morning host at KOST Los Angeles and former co-host at 102.7  
KIIS-FM from 1990 to 2015.
Broadway Bill Lee  Afternoon host at WCBS-FM New York. Formerly at WTIC-FM  
Hartford, KFRC San Francisco, WLOL Minneapolis, KPKE Denver and WQHT and  
WKTU New York.
Walt Baby Love  Host of Gospel Traxx. Formerly worked at stations including  
KYOK and KILT Houston, CKLW Windsor, WVON Chicago, WBLS, WNBC and  
WOR-FM/WXLO New York, and KFI, KGFJ/KKBT, KHJ, KMPC, and KUTE Los Angeles.
Carol Miller  Evening host at WAXQ New York and SiriusXM. Formerly of  
WNEW-FM, WQIV and WPLJ New York and WMMR Philadelphia.
Chris Mad Dog Russo  Host and namesake of SiriusXMs Mad Dog Sports Radio.  
Formerly of WFAN New York as 1/2 of Mike and the Mad Dog.
Jeff Smulyan  Founder and CEO of Emmis Communications
Suzyn Waldman  New York Yankees radio broadcaster. Was first voice heard on  
WFAN New York.


The Museum of Broadcast Communications announced today the selection of  
nine new inductees into the RADIO HALL OF FAME for 2022. The 2022 Radio  
Hall of Fame inductees will be honored at the in-person 2022 Radio Hall of  
Fame Induction ceremony on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Chicago’s Radisson  
Blu Aqua Hotel. Tickets are on sale now at: www.radiohalloffame.com. A  
portion of ticket purchases is a tax-deductible charitable donation to the  
Museum of Broadcast Communications.

THE 2022 RADIO HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES ARE:

Marv Dyson  Radio Executive

Lon Helton  Country Countdown USA

Ellen K  KOST-FM Los Angeles

Broadway Bill Lee  WCBS-FM New York

Walt “Baby” Love  Gospel Traxx

Carol Miller  WAXQ-FM New York

Chris “Mad Dog” Russo  Sirius XM

Jeff Smulyan  Emmis Communication President & CEO

Suzyn Waldman  New York Yankees Radio Network (WFAN-A/F New York)

 Six inductees were determined by a voting participant panel comprised of  
more than 800 industry professionals and three inductees were voted on by  
the Radio Hall of Fame Nominating Committee. The confidential ballot was  
conducted by Votem.com and overseen by Miller Kaplan’s Andrew Rosen. 

Kraig T. Kitchin, Co-Chair of the Radio Hall of Fame, commented:  
“Congratulations to each member of the 2022 Class of Inductees. Our  
forthcoming inductees have made a wonderful impact on the lives of their  
listeners and our industry. We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate their  
respective careers and honor them with an induction to the Radio Hall of  
Fame”.

Dennis Green, Co-Chair of the Radio Hall of Fame, remarked: “It is an honor  
to induct nine worthy individuals to the Radio Hall of Fame. This year was  
our highest voter participation ever and the radio industry picked an  
amazing, diverse class of broadcasters and executives that we are proud to  
call Hall of Famers. These individuals have made a lasting impact on this  
amazing industry, cementing their place as part of the legacy that makes  
radio special.”

The Radio Hall of Fame was founded by the Emerson Radio Corporation in  
1988. The Museum of Broadcast Communications took over operations in 1991.

FCC Report 7/24: Limited License Renewals For Limited Operations

FCC Actions

Maria Guels Mekaddesh Group Corporation has entered into a Consent Decree  
and granted one year renewals for seven of their stations as they have been  
silent for over 25% of their previous license term ending on August 1, 2021  
and failed to maintain their online public files.

98.7 KZAM Pleasant Valley TXs license term began on 8/21/17. The station  
was silent from 2/17/21 to 2/10/22.
105.1 KEVK-FM Sanderson TXs license term began on 3/5/20 and was silent  
from 3/14/21 to 3/14/22.
99.7 KYLQ Encinal TXs license term began on 1/24/20 and was silent from  
3/15/21 to 3/14/22.
100.7 KEVQ-FM Crosbyton TXs license term began on 2/19/20 and was silent  
from 3/23/21 to 3/22/22.
99.9 KDSP-FM Spur TXs license term began on 1/17/20 and was silent from  
3/16/21 to 3/16/22.
107.3 KEVM-FM Junction TXs license term began on 3/5/20 and was silent from  
3/23/21 to 3/22/22.
96.7 KYLB Turkey TXs license term began on 1/27/20 and was silent from  
3/16/21 to 3/16/22.



Universal Broadcasting Networks 105.5 WWWK Islamorada FL was issued a  
Notice of Violation as it was operating using a directional antenna from a  
residential property in Homestead, 29.5 miles from where the FCC had  
granted the station an STA in February. WWWKs station manager would confirm  
to FCC agents in a letter that the station had been operating from the  
residence since early March.

The FCC has issued a Notice of Violation to Ben Jordan Communications  
Corporations Blues 91.9 WBRQ La Grange GA for operating an unlicensed  
booster.


The FCC has entered into Consent Decrees with the following licensees for  
failing to maintain their online political files:

Joseph C Tesiero licensee of WYVS Speculator NY
Connoisseur Media Licenses, LLC licensee of WALK-FM Patchogue and WBZO Bay  
Shore NY

Deletions

Blueberry Broadcasting has turned in the license to 1450 WVOM Rockland ME.  
WVOM had been simulcasting Conservative Talk 103.9 WVOM-FM Bangor/101.3  
WVQM Augusta. WVOMs translator 95.1 W236DO Rockland, which was permanently  
tied to the station, was also deleted.
