You can also set it up to auto-login as "root" using an ssh key in your key agent. Default setting (on Linux Mint) for /etc/ssh/sshd_config is PermitRootLogin prohibit-password ...which means you'll need to use a key to log in as root, or change the setting. Extra sidenote: if you ever set things up to ssh in remotely from off the Net, you might want to run denyhosts or fail2ban. (Thunar can open sftp connections directly, btw.
