Hard to say why he was not on board? Good reason to do it, it will be 
the only debian, ubuntu or devuan stable based sysvinit system out there 
that is rolling it's own kernel with a Plasma Desktop release. It's needed.

I saw it while updating my installed mx19 yesterday.

I've tested the iso and got a dbus error, just before the desktop is up. 
  Still seems to load okay, conky and all. I need to boot it on some 
more machines and play with it some more.

Maybe save back to persistent and see if I can build my own iso.
