Here is a useful diatribe by AH Kernan in '24 Apr in alt.config 
addressing the issue of new alt. group creation 'difficulty'.  All 
things considered, I think it is easier and 'better' in some ways (as a 
'tribute' to Mepis, perhaps) to have the mepis group the place for 
usenet MX people to congregate.

Not only does the name MX represent Mepis and AntiX, but the MX logo is 
a rendition of the Mepis logo w/ a big X added.

Also, in the AHK 'scenario' the activity in the mepis group must be a 
stepping stone for anyone who would wish for their to be a MX group.
